Successful Week For Saints Football
This week the Athletic Union Annual Awards Ceremony has been taken place online each night as a result of the ongoing challenges of Covid 19.
Despite not being able to accept awards in person, it has been a really successful week so far for a number of players in the programme. On Monday, the following players were recognised for their outstanding contributions on and or off the pitch:
Half Blue – Isabella Rosalina
Colours – Katie Nelson, Meredith Ferneau, Sami Azam-Ali, Daniel Cohen, Daniel Ross, Bradley McCallion, Tom Grant and William McIlveen
On Tuesday evening the success continued with the following winners:
Professor Sam Taylor Bejant(ine) Award – Isabella Rosalina
The Provost’s Postgraduate Scholar/Bursar of the Year – Nakia Graham
Continued Achievement Award – Sebastiaan Van Gilst & Ben Kemply (for success outwith football in fencing and cricket respectively)
With the Women’s 1st team in contention to win the Team of the Year Award which will be announced tonight (Thursday) and the Football Club on the shortlist for Athletic Union Club of the Year (announced Friday) there promises for more success still to come. Congratulations to all the award winners so far. A well earned recognition for all your efforts and a nice note to end the season on, in some cases their time overall in St Andrews!
