Congratulation to our Women’s 1st team who won Bucs Scottish League 1A on Wednesday after defeating Abertay University 1s 12-1. The result ensured that the team clinched their first 1A title in a number of years and managed to do so with a game to spare. Over the last few years team has continued to improve and grow in the top Scottish tier to the point where each season they have surpassed their points total from the year before. Once again they have done that with the added bonus this time of being named Scottish champions having won all 9 of their league games so far. On Wednesday, goals from 1st year players Isabella Rosalina (5) and Rory Xanders (1) were followed by 4th year player (and Women’s President) Katie Nelson (1) and Post Graduate Scholars Nakia Graham (3) and Aliie Crum (2). The match also saw the long awaited return of club stalwart Alison Lightfoot following a serious ACL injury last year.

We are extremely proud of what the team and coaches have achieved this year so huge congratulations to them. The season is far from done as they now face Edinburgh 1s in the Women’s SSS Cup Semi-Final at home next week (26th February) as well as play off matches for a place in Prem North next season. For now though enjoy the moment girls and well done to all involved!
